Most Kings…

I’m upset and unsure of what to say that already hasn’t been said ,but I just want to let every Black man and woman who follows this blog that despite what everything in the media depicts , despite whatever label they’ve thrown onto you because of the color of your skin you’re worthy of life and of all the love in the in the world.

Saying Black lives matter almost annoys me. Of course they matter, ALL LIVES MATTER! It’s a shame we have to reiterate it.

My mom grew up during apartheid and used to tell stories that at the time flew over my head. I couldn’t imagine a person doing such hateful things to another person for something as beautiful as their skin. I hope no kid ever grows up to face the things we’re facing now and never has to feel the frustration and helplessness that I am .

Gyimah Gariba - the talented artist who created this painting and wrote the above  - speaks words that I wholeheartedly agree with. My deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected by the horrible injustice that has been inflicted on the victims, their families and their communities.
